Sequana Park - The Next Generation Of Play Now Open
The final piece to Sequana’s 8.6ha of dedicated open space is now complete. The highly anticipated Sequana Park has received final council sign off and is now ready for the community to explore and enjoy!
Coined as ‘the next generation of play’, Sequana Park’s state-of-the-art destination playground features the latest in intergenerational and inclusive play elements providing an enriched play experience for children of all ages and abilities while increasing interactions between children and their caregivers.
Designed and constructed by Brisbane-based play designer Urban Play, Sequana Park has been specifically crafted to embody Sequana’s vision to embrace wide-open space while inviting exploration and encouraging recreation.
Urban Play playspace designer Kate Heise-Seabrook says the playground has been designed to creatively complement the surrounding natural environment, seamlessly integrating into the landscape while providing a unique, nature play experience that is next level in terms of the diverse play opportunities that it presents.
To safely engage children of a wide range of ages, the playground is split into two separate play areas with a junior and a senior zone. Each zone offers age-appropriate play activities created to stimulate every child’s sense of imagination and wonder as they engage in a range of tactile, physical, sensory, cognitive, auditory, and social play activities.”
The junior zone of Sequana Park includes a multi-deck playhouse suitable for toddlers aged over one year and includes multiple levels to be explored, a tunnel, a platform for engaging with caregivers, and a slide.
The senior zone includes a mega deck and tower which includes multiple levels, numerous sides of varying heights, and challenging banister bars. A dual round trampoline, great for encouraging coordination, a tipi carousel, and a set of swings suited to multiple ages and abilities complete the playground.
The playground at Sequana Park is complemented by surrounding grassy mounds for picnicking, a kick-about area, a sheltered area with BBQ facilities, and public toilets.
Villawood Properties state development manager Michael Williams says the addition of a high-quality and well-designed public amenity such as Sequana Park further illustrates Villawood’s commitment to embellishing its master-planned communities with lifestyle assets that cultivate an active and connected community.“
With the park complete, Sequana now features over 8.6ha of open space for residents to enjoy, equating to 35 per cent of the development,” says Mr Williams.
“This dedication to inclusive green space is a testament to Villawood’s commitment to the preservation of large areas of natural landscapes while retaining habitat for local species to exist in conjunction with the estate’s residents.
“We are extremely proud of Sequana Park as an addition to the Sequana community and we trust it will be a welcomed addition for our residents for many generations to come.”
