GFA Charity Auction Count Down
This Good Friday 19th April, Villawood Properties will celebrate a decade of partnership with Henley in delivering the GFA Charity Home Auction.
GFA executive director, Anne Randall, visited the stunning home built by Henley volunteers on a the waterfront corner block Villawood donated in its boutique Delaray community. She was joined by Delaray residents with a special link to the Royal Children’s Hospital, for a piece that ran on Seven News Melbourne.
Arguably the auction event of the year, the GFA Charity Auction draws prospective buyers from all over the country, wanting to secure a home with true heart, as well as hundreds of local families kicking up their heels at the street party spectacular, which kicks off at midday at Domingo avenue in Clyde North, all in support of the Good Friday Appeal.
The RCH GFA Charity Home Auction has become one of Victoria’s most loved auction events and one of the biggest contributors to The Appeal each year. The project initially started in 1993, when Henley committed to organise fundraising for The Appeal with the goal of raising $10,000. The Henley Directors felt they could do something even bigger to help, and decided to build and donate a home instead, with every cent raised at auction being donated. The first home located in Timbarra Estate, Berwick went for $136,500, smashing the initial goal of a $10,000 contribution.
