Celadon Park Officially Opens!
Celadon Park officially opens at The Surrounds adding yet another 2674m2 of green space and state-of-the-art amenity to our growing Helensvale community.
Division 7 Councillor Ryan Bayldon-Lumsden officiated the opening of the park which is located within the final stages of the community. It enjoys a prime south-eastern location between the perimeter parklands surrounding the estate and the community’s Leisure Centre.
A collaborative design by Gold Coast firm SMEC and Bundaberg based Will Play, the anticipated addition to the community is kitted out with the latest multi-age and all-ability play equipment including a spinner, Orb Climb, spinning see-saw, and fairy-tale system created to instigate imaginary play and hours of fun.
A spacious kick-a-bout area is adjoined by a fun, interactive bike track designed to help children of all ages to learn to how ride a bike. The track incorporates a play component with traffic signs and play equipment including a petrol station for ‘refuelling’.
Shade sails, sheltered areas and park seats provide a fully-equipped space for residents to relax and unwind.
Councillor Bayldon-Lumsden says it’s promising to see communities like The Surrounds prioritising the importance of public amenity and providing green open spaces.
“The Surrounds features numerous designated active places for community members of all ages to enjoy,” said Mr Bayldon-Lumsden.
“Not only do these vital spaces provide a place for families and friends to meet outdoors but they play an important role in creating and supporting the social fabric that enables a community to connect and thrive.”
Villawood Properties state development manager Michael Williams says the recent global pandemic has seen increased importance placed on living spaces that prioritise high-quality amenity with connectivity to the outdoors.
“Australians now more than ever understand the importance of residing in residential communities that provide wide-open spaces, well designed parks and recreational amenities,” said Mr Williams.
“Celadon Park Park represents the fourth local recreation area within The Surrounds, all of which have distinct offerings for the community to enjoy. Perimeter Park, that borders the community, offers extensive walking tracks, Xenia Park features an off-leash Dog Park, while Central Park has a state of the art playground and BBQ facilities.
The park has been delivered in line with Stage 3C and D of the estate.
“On completion The Surrounds will feature a total of 23.39Ha of parks and green space,” Mr Williams said.
“Over 30 per cent of the community has been retained as dedicated green space, with extensive walking trails linking the entire site. This means every resident is less than 200 metres from green space.”
In addition to extensive park areas, residents have access to world-class shared amenities including the Leisure Centre surrounded by manicured gardens, barbeque areas, and playgrounds for families to congregate in and enjoy.
The $4 million Leisure Centre consists of 750sqm of recreation space including a lap pool, kid’s pool, a multi-purpose room, a fully-equipped gymnasium, and a Café.
