Plants, plants, plants … all manner of garden species will be popping up around Gawler soon, many gracing kitchen tables, after a recent Villawood seedlings giveaway.

Think capsicum, pretty asters and deep blue sea holly, mixed lettuces and candytuft rocket, even chia.

No less than 1200 seedlings were handed out at the Gawler Show as part of our imperative to make our communities more sustainable in every way – energy use, resources and especially in a community sense.

“The 1200 seedlings provided by Villawood were a welcome addition to this year’s sold out Gawler Show Treasure Trail,” Gawler Show’s Tanya Veldkamp said.

“The Treasure Trail has been a family favourite activity since its inception in 2012 and was an initiative of the Gawler Show Youth Team.

“It is fantastic to see Villawood, one of our valued Gawler Show partners, thinking about sustainability measures with their planting program in and around Gawler.”

For years, Villawood had led the greenfields development industry on sustainability.

On top of these, our block-for-block biodiversity offset program has seen us donate some 600 hectares to bushland reserves to assist our environment. And this is about to be ramped up big time with new programs in South Australia and Queensland.

Crunching into a home-grown Villawood salad is a neat way to know you’re doing your bit to help our environment, and keep you and your family healthy as well.
