Sunbury Road Upgrade Works Update: Redstone Access
Important Update: Redstone Access – March 2023
Villawood have been in discussions with Major Road Projects Victoria to improve access and safety to the Redstone entry and exit at Origin Drive.
Until now Redstone residents and visitors could only turn-left onto Sunbury Road, however the removal of the Lancefield Road round-a-bout has also removed the ability to do a U-Turn creating an inconvenience and safety concerns.
RIGHT-TURN NOW PERMITTED
New line markings at Origin Drive will now allow a right-turn onto Sunbury road during the road upgrade works.
The allowance of a right-turn out of Origin Drive is a temporary solution until the end of 2023 when Sunbury Road works are completed at the front of Redstone.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SUNBURY ROAD WORKS ARE COMPLETE?
Exiting Redstone
When Sunbury Road works are complete it is a left-turn only when exiting from Origin Drive. U-turn will be permitted at Lancefield Road.
In 2024 a new signalised intersection at the future town centre site will allow a right-turn out of Redstone. Residents and visitors can use new internal roads to access that exit.
Entering Redstone
If you’re coming from Sunbury, Redstone residents and visitors will need to drive 200m past the current Redstone entrance to the signalised intersection to perform a U-Turn.
Once the future town centre intersection opens in 2024, residents and visitors will be able to turn right into Redstone with internal roads linking existing homes with the new intersection.
