Rory Tops Dry July Campaign for Fifth Year Running!
Villawood’s Rory Costelloe has yet again topped the Dry July cancer fund-raiser stakes on two fronts – the highest individual tally and the highest team tally.
Rory raised more than $50,000 in AFL legend Billy Brownless’ Team Love total of more than $91,000. Both the team and individual tallies have been the top Dry July campaigns five years running now.
The team total over that time is $400,000, with Rory posting an extraordinary $216,000 of that figure.
The 2025 Dry July funds will support Barwon Health’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre and vital cancer services in the Geelong region.
“Thank you to the 110 plus generous people who donated to my campaign this year,” Rory said.
“It’s been incredible to see so many dig deep to help cancer patients and their families. I take part in Dry July in memory of my brother Justin, who passed from cancer seven years ago, and to support my niece who is currently battling the disease.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your generosity.”
Zoe Waters, executive director of the Barwon Health Foundation, thanked Rory and Billy for their efforts.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Billy and Rory for their leadership and to all participants and donors who made this campaign a success,” she said.
“The funds raised support essential initiatives such as patient transport, accommodation refurbishments, wellness therapies, and comfort and care for local cancer patients.
“This campaign truly makes a difference in the lives of those undergoing cancer treatment locally.”
Dry July fundraising is open until August 31. You can continue to grow Rory’s impact at: https://www.dryjuly.com/users/rory-costelloe
