It really doesn’t come much better than this. A record-breaking $1.212 million has been raised for The Royal Children’s Hospital at this year’s Good Friday Appeal charity auction at Villawood’s Alamora community Tarneit.

After 44 bids in a nail-biting no-reserve auction, Tarneit locals Gurshish Nehal, 46, and his wife Kiran, 43, emerged as the proud new owners of the show-stopping, fully furnished and professionally landscaped Lancaster 440-D47 with the head-turning Monroe façade, built by Henley with the support of volunteer trades and suppliers on land donated by Villawood Properties at Alamora in Tarneit.

Villawood Properties Executive Director Rory Costelloe said the final sale price was $61,500 higher than 2025’s result, continuing the strong legacy of this important initiative.

“Everything raised at the auction goes to the Royal Children’s Hospital,” Mr Costelloe said. “Everyone knows someone who has needed the hospital at some point – that is why this auction is such an important day, not just for Villawood and Henley, but for the hundreds of tradies and suppliers who pour their skills, labour and support into this incredible community effort.”

Gurshish said the family knew almost instantly that the Good Friday Appeal Home was going to be their forever family home.

“The moment we saw this home, we knew it was the one,” Gurshish said.

“Everything in the house is amazing. We love the façade, it is unique and absolutely stunning to look at, and the whole home has a warmth about it that made us picture our family here straight away.”

“We have lived in Tarneit for 15 years and we love this suburb, so to be able to buy a home here, and one with so much heart behind it, is incredibly special for us.”

Around 1,000 onlookers attended the event, enjoying a vibrant day that featured rides, the Truganina Fire Brigade, a Bollywood performance, face painters, live music and so much more, bringing the Alamora community together in support of a shared cause. Set in the heart of Tarneit, Alamora continues to showcase the benefits of connected, lifestyle-led living. With access to Club Alamora, open green spaces and everyday conveniences close by, it’s a community designed for modern families.

The success of this year’s charity home is a powerful reflection of what makes Alamora special, a place where people come together, support one another, and create something bigger than themselves.

Thanks to Henley Homes, Paul Tzamalis auctioneer, the Herald Sun, the Seven Network, the wonderful people at the GFA and all the beautiful souls who poured their hearts into creating this beautiful home. And of course to winning bidders Gurshish and Kirandeep Nehal.
