Neighbours Cardijn College Reveals Plans for Senior Campus Expansion
A new chapter is on the horizon for Cardijn College’s Galilee Campus, with plans lodged for a $36 million Senior campus development that will provide families in Adelaide’s south with a complete Catholic education pathway from reception to Year 12.
Since opening in 2007 to the Aldinga community, the Galilee Campus has experienced strong growth and support from the Southern Vales community.
Currently, the campus caters for students from Reception to Year 9, with the future expansion to welcome its first Year 10 cohort in 2028, followed by Year 11 in 2029 and Year 12 in 2030.
For families in the area, the development means students will be able to undertake their entire educational journey within the one school community, meaning continuity of learning, wellbeing support and strong relationships with staff and peers throughout their secondary years.
Cardijn College Principal Steve Byrne said he was excited to share the next chapter in the Galilee story.
“As Cardijn continues to receive tremendous support from the Southern Vales community, we are developing the necessary, substantial specialist facilities for our students to complete their SACE at our Aldinga campus – along with specialist facilities for our extensive Inclusive Education program,” Mr Byrne said.
The plans have been lodged with the City of Onkaparinga for consideration and include a range of purpose-built facilities designed to support senior learning. The features include:
- Specialist learning support spaces
- Senior library
- Science laboratories
- Arts Centre
- Dedicated Food Technology and Materials Technology facilities
Catholic Education South Australia Executive Director Neil McGoran said the expansion marks an important milestone in the development of Catholic education in Adelaide’s south and reinforces Cardijn College’s commitment to delivering innovative, inclusive and future-focused learning opportunities for young people.”
