Motorsport Star Aaron Cameron Revs Up With Villawood
Rising Aussie racing star Aaron Cameron, eyeing world gold in this month’s FIA Motorsport Games, has struck a key branding deal with Villawoood Properties.
The 22-year-old Cameron will compete in the ‘Olympics for race cars’ at Le Castellet’s Paul Ricard Circuit in southern France.
Cameron has built a name in the TCR Australia Series, competing in every TCR Australia race since inception. He finished second in 2021 and third in 2019. As a teen he competed in world karting titles and in 2018 won the Australian Kart Championship.
The French competition will be his third international motor race in a TCR car. He raced an Audi RS 3 TCR in the 2019 Dubai and Barcelona 24-hour endurance races.
Cameron will drive a Peugeot 308 TCR at Paul Ricard and is keen to bring home gold.
“It’s not very often in motorsport you get to fight for medals and I’m going to be against lots of world-renowned racers, so it should be good and really tough competition,” Aaron says. “Hopefully we can represent Australia in the best way possible.
“I’ve never been to the Paul Ricard Circuit before but, from the research I’ve done, the Peugeot should be well suited there. I’ll be doing some simulator work prior so we can hit the ground running from the opening session.”
Villawood executive director Tony Johnson, a racing enthusiast and competitor often found carving up race tracks from Bathurst to Phillip Island, says Aaron Cameron is a talented and dedicated up-and-comer.
“I think he has enormous talent and he’s committed to becoming a professional driver.
“He’s done very well and Villawood is delighted to be able to help further his racing career. I know a lot of our clients will be following his journey.”
