Kicking Goals at Gawler
Tiny Portia Conniff’s all fitted out for some serious football with the Gawler Eagles. So too big guns Kayla Langton, Natalie Chihuri and Georgette Frimpong after a helping hand from Villawood’s recent William Lakes community grants.
The Gawler Eagles FC has no less than 23 junior teams this season, including two girls’ sides – U15 and a new U9 team – so the grant is instrumental in assisting the club with new sporting gear for all juniors and our girls.
“It coincides nicely with our $1 million changeroom facilities on the drawing board right now,” says club committee secretary. “The plan is to provide the best amenities for our girls/women teams in 2024.”
The Eagles are also aiming to have a women’s team up and running in 2024, so big things are unfolding in Gawler.
“The club is very grateful for Villawood’s support and is keenly watching Villawood’s two developments north and south of Gawler,” says Peter Broelman
