How resident-only clubs have set Melbourne estates apart on city’s fringe
Gyms, pools and space to bring your neighbours together for a catch up or some yoga practice have long set new estates with residents’ clubs apart from the crowd.
But a leading development boss is now contrasting them with the churches of days gone by as a hub of community building.
With proponents linking them to everything from faster capital growth to stronger communities and better schooling outcomes, buyers are increasingly comfortable with shelling out close to $1000 a year to be part of the club.
