Hot Coffee Hit For Club Coridale

9 Grams Cafe set to open in November at Club Coridale in Lara.

Renowned coffee house 9 Grams is bringing its sharp café culture to Lara with a new outlet set to open at Villawood’s Club Coridale.

The club will host the fourth 9 Grams café in the Geelong region, complementing a reputation built at our Club Armstrong at Mount Duneed, as well as Newtown and Torquay outlets.

For Lara, with only a few cafes servicing its growing population, Club Coridale 9 Grams will be a valuable addition to its café tradition and is expected to draw local coffee hounds from across the town and further afield.

9 Grams owner Ihab Housaiki jumped at the opportunity to expand to Club Coridale after eight years at the helm of the Club Armstrong cafe.

“People said I was crazy when I opened there, at the time there were less houses than there are at Coridale already,” he says.

“But it’s been a great success and I‘m confident Coridale will be the same. We have people from Lara who drive to our Newtown café, I’m sure people will be happy to have us there.”

Ihab is already employing staff ahead a November opening. The Coridale café will offer the same menu as other 9 Grams outlets.

Club Coridale opened late last year, providing gym, swimming pool, multi-sports court, family and function facilities to the new neighbourhood.

“Cafes and clubs are really important places in new communities,” says Villawood’s Rory Costelloe. “People get to meet their neighbours and make new friends. Kids make new playmates and the community starts gathering strength.

“We have 9 Grams on board at our Club Armstrong in Mount Duneed and it is not just a great place for a coffee and a snack or meal but a really vibrant social hub.

“The café has been designed so parents can relax and still watch their kids as they play in the club’s pool or wet deck.

“So his is exciting for all the people moving into new homes at Coridale – as well as wider Lara who will have another great choice to meet their coffee needs.”
