Embracing the Great Australian Dream
Nurse Charlotte Turner says the great Australian dream of home ownership is becoming harder and harder to achieve.
As a care worker, living close to where she works is extremely important, she says. But it makes that dream even tougher to attain.
Charlotte and her partner, who works with the RAAF, grew up in Adelaide’s north from Lyndoch to Hewett, and are keen to stick close to where they know and love.
“We knew we wanted to live out north and William Lakes was in a prime location for us. Not far off the express way, good distance from the city, and not far from good schools and local shopping,” she says.
Villawood’s Care Worker Support Program’s $10K helping hand on their William Lakes lot helped make that dream a reality.
“This rebate made a huge difference for us,” says Charlotte.
“It meant we could use that $10k towards additional upgrades on the home that were building. “It was an unexpected surprise for us and one we are grateful for, given we work so hard to get into our own home it definitely helps.”
