Randika, his wife and 3-year-old daughter moved into their new home at Wandana Heights in August 2021. For some time they had been talking about building a brand new home, customised to cater for all their needs and aspirations. The family wanted to be in a convenient location, close to transport, education, shopping and recreation facilities. They were also hoping to have a nice view from their new residence.

Wandana Heights ticked so many of their boxes and so they began to explore the possibilities of building in the Geelong region and becoming part of the healthy, happy Wandana community.

Having found their block of land, Randika’s main concern was the degree of slope. The family felt they needed to engage an experienced builder who would build with the slope rather than cut into the block, which would require large retaining walls.

The display village builders were able to accommodate their requests and customise their floor plan to work with the slope. They were so thrilled and found the process smooth sailing once they had a design that suited everyone.

Randika and his family are thrilled with their dream home. There are 2 split levels within their house and a driveway gradient that is not too steep. Having multiple levels in the backyard is a bonus, with the first level showcasing an extended alfresco area, second level a lush lawn and the third level the perfect spot for their all-important vegetable patch.

Randika and his wife would recommend building on a slope and putting your design into the hands of an experienced custom builder – someone that can maximise the advantages of the sloping block and share your vision. They advise that although you may pay a little extra, the end result is a totally unique home that will certainly impress and delight for years to come.
