Aussie spirit takes to the podium at Eucalee
Villawood Properties is cheering on the Australian team by displaying a giant corten steel sign of support within the Gleneagle community, Eucalee. The proudly patriotic sign that stands 2.5 metres high and reads ‘GO AUSSIES’, celebrating the current Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams, will remain in place within the community until the conclusion of the Olympic season.
The sign is located next to the Eucalee Land Sales Centre and is visible from Mount Lindsay Highway.
Villawood Properties is a privately owned, Australian company who has long been committed to taking an active interest in its local community, supporting the schools, sporting, and community groups that surround their master-planned communities.
Villawood Properties Queensland General Manager Michael Williams says Villawood is proud to be contributing to the excitement surrounding the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
“The Olympics Games play a significant role in our global community promoting international relations, human potential, pride, unity, diversity and inclusion through friendly competition and sportsmanship,” says Mr Williams.
“Watching our Australian team compete on the world stage evokes a sense of national pride within our communities and the Games are a wonderful reminder of the perseverance, determination, and humility the human spirit is capable of, and the important role sport has in our society.
“Showing our sign of support for our Australian team is yet another way for us to create further anticipation and excitement for the Games and to inspire the Aussie spirit within each of us.”
Villawood Properties has sponsored many sporting and community groups to date including the Beaudesert and District Netball Association, a group local to the Eucalee community.
In line with their continued commitment to supporting the local community, Villawood is set to launch the Eucalee Community Grant Program 2024 in September, with all eligible groups encouraged to apply for the $500 and $1000 grants on offer.
“Villawood has always taken great pleasure in helping out the local sporting and community groups operating within our communities and the Community Grant Program is yet another way to give back to the locals and support the groups that support our residents,” says Mr Williams.
“We understand the vital role these networks provide in creating an engaged, active, healthy, and connected community and we are proud to assist successful applicants with activities within the Scenic Rim region.”
The use of corten steel has become synonymous with Villawood developments over the past 30 years, with the material used throughout the master-planned communities as striking public artwork with a point of difference. The giant sculptures have been created by Australian artist and sculptor Folko Kooper and represent the flora and fauna unique to the community.
