National UDIA Award for Care Worker Help
Villawood Properties is delighted to have its Care Worker Support Program win the prestigious 2024 UDIA National Awards Excellence in Marketing prize.
This program has helped more than 300 essential care workers build a home near where they work, with up to $20K savings on lot prices.
Villawood started the program in Geelong when it became apparent vital care workers were increasingly unable to afford to live where they worked.
Targeting nurses, police, firefighters, aged and personal carers, teachers, paramedics and others, the program offers savings up to $20K off blocks of land. Villawood sets aside land for this purpose.
Following its initial success, Villawood extended the program to metropolitan Melbourne and then nationally as well.
Care workers provide essential, often frontline, services – services the community relies upon heavily, especially in times of difficulty. Villawood wants these vital people to be able to live and work in its communities, contributing to a rich social fabric delivering long-term value to its residents.
Villawood views care worker support as an important part of the community imperative it pursues in all its projects.
Our marketing of the initiative was notable for its focus on caring for the carers – real people who helped the community, often on the frontline, with vital skills.
The program has been backed strongly by the care sector, business and community leaders and, most of all, by its recipients.
Many thanks to the UDIA for this recognition. Many thanks also to all the dedicated care workers who’ve joined the Villawood family.
