INSIGHT: Why Alamora Estate Manager Sree Datti Lives Where She Works
Oliver Hume’s Sree Datti is excited talking about the joys of working and living at Alamora.
She’s building her dream family home there. After living in the Tarneit corridor for 15 years, she and her husband are building their new home as part of Stage 3 of the development. It will be a Hamptons-style double-storey design, on a large block, with spaces for large open living and entertainment, working at home and study spaces for her two sons.
“It’s like I’m always telling my clients,” she explains. “When you’re putting down roots and investing in a new home, you want a good neighbourhood and lifestyle setting, with convenience built in. I’m happy because I’ll have the benefit of living among existing friends, in a neighbourhood with Villawood’s trademark sense of community and warmth.”
Like many in the Indian community, Sree migrated to Australia from India for a better life and she is full of gratitude to her adopted country.
“It has given us a better life and lifestyle circumstances. In this country, you put the effort in by working hard and the growth and success is there for you to grab. I also love the fact that people are so friendly and welcoming. As soon as I arrived in this beautiful country, the first thing I noticed and still remember very well, was when I made eye contact, people generally smiled or said good day.”
She and husband Vara, an IT professional, met in India before he moved to Australia first in 2002. She joined him in 2005 and worked in the telco industry before becoming a stay-at-home mum and setting up a catering and events business.
However, her heart was really elsewhere. She was passionate about the property industry.
Sree knows exactly what’s on offer at Alamora – the lifestyle, residents’ club, amenities, parks and open spaces. As mother of 11 and 13-year-old boys, she also knows the importance of ready access to schools, shopping, transport and services.
“At Alamora, everything is in easy reach, you don’t have to sacrifice your time and lifestyle travelling just for your basic needs,” she says. “Convenience here rates very highly, especially among the Indian members of the community who want more time to spend with family and for family.
“This is what enhances lifestyle for them. Amenities are most important – shopping centre and train station so near and so on. With most Indian women, not everyone drives, so having easy access to public transport is fabulous. It means more time not just with your family but with your friends, too.
“This has been chance for our family to enter a very good project, something that’s more premium, heavily owner-occupied, with a lot of open space. And the exclusive state-of-the-art resort style Residents’ Club will add to the relaxed lifestyle we have always wanted. My boys are so excited about the Club Alamora facilities, they love a good swim and can’t wait to use the gym and catch up with friends for a coffee on the weekends.”
