Stepping Things Up At Redstone

STEPPING THINGS UP AT REDSTONE

Lucy McNamara and Samuel Gibson weren’t going to buy for at least 12 months but the weight of home buyers grants, builder’s advice and Redstone’s stunning location convinced them otherwise.

“We’ve been saving for two years and only just started looking seriously,” Lucy says.

“But with Villawood’s $35K offer, $25K from HomeBuilders and the $10K First Home Owners Grant we had to act.

“Now it’s full steam ahead. We’ve got our first drawings already. We’re thinking a four-bedroom single storey with a good-sized back yard.”

Lucy and Samuel, both 21, are keen to enter the property market to secure their financial future. And Sunbury and Redstone suit their purposes perfectly.

“I was raised in Sunbury, although my family lived in Echuca and the Gold Coast for a while before returning,” says Lucy.

“It’s great because it’s kind of city and country at the same time. I work at Crown but my friends are all Sunbury and lots from across the Macedon Ranges.

“Sunbury’s just 35 minutes from Melbourne but Redstone cuts 10 minutes off the trip to Melbourne. We were looking at the area originally, it was always between Kingsfield and Redstone but Redstone won out.

“And there’s so much open space, plus Club Redstone. Initially, we were kind of put off by the club, we thought it would be really expensive, but it’s not, it’s really good.

“We both go to the gym so there’s savings straight away.”

Lucy said Sunbury’s existing township, nearby Melbourne Airport, along with Calder and Tullamarine freeway, meant everything was within easy reach.

The couple conducted their entire purchase online – consults, deposit, contract …

“It was really easy, and Matthew from the sales office was great. There wasn’t a question we had that he couldn’t answer immediately.

“It kind of doesn’t feel real just yet, we’ve just signed on, but it’s very exciting.”
