Villawood and Henley staff are involved year-round on everything from creating a beautiful home in a gorgeous location, through to promoting the GFA Charity Home. Every cent from the GFA Charity Auction’s proceeds goes to the Royal Children’s Hospital, so we do everything we can to deliver a fantastic result come auction day!
Not only does one fortunate family get to purchase a beautiful home in an emerging Melbourne suburb, but their successful bid is a significant donation to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The street party surrounding each Good Friday Appeal Charity Home Auction offers a memorable day out for the local families, with plenty of free entertainment, capped off by Channel Seven’s coverage of the auction itself.
In 2020, we’re proud to mark a decade of working with Henley to deliver the Good Friday Appeal Charity Home Auction.
This year’s home is located in our vibrant Rathdowne community in Wollert. The lot we selected to donate is a 512sqm block, close to the future Town Centre and Residents’ Club.
Henley’s big-hearted volunteers have once again delivered the goods, building a stunning ‘Electra 35’ with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 4 living areas. The home has everything a buyer needs to move straight in, including luxury fittings and fixtures and finished with professional landscaping, decking, ducted heating and air-conditioning and window coverings. Once again, all the furniture featured in the home has been donated and will be sold as part of the overall auction price.
Last, but not least, the winning bidder will have access to Club Rathdowne, which means a fully equipped gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis court, function room, community gardens and a local café at their leisure.
In 2018, the Good Friday Appeal Charity Home went for a record-breaking amount of $860,000. Every cent went to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The home itself was a stunning Emperor 41 by Henley, which is a 41 square, 5 bedroom home, located at 13 Harfield Avenue, Mickleham, in Villawood’s boutique Waratah community.
With easy access to childcare, open parkland and the Mickleham town centre, the interest in the 2018 GFA Charity Home had been strong since the first Open For Inspection.
The record-breaking sale price, combined with funds raised by the Henley/Villawood team at this year’s Chain Reaction bike race in New Zealand and the 3AW Neil’s Wheel initiative, brought the funds raised for the Good Friday Appeal to almost $1million in 2019.
Here’s to another great result in 2019!
