Rathdowne was buzzing with family-friendly fun over the weekend as residents came together for not one but two standout community events: the highly anticipated Backyard Cricket Tournament and the ever-popular Rathdowne Club Open Day.

Kicking off on Saturday morning, the Backyard Cricket Tournament once again delivered all the classics: the satisfying thwack of bat on ball, quick singles across the grass, and plenty of friendly banter from the sidelines. Residents of all ages turned out to play, cheer and soak up the sunshine at Rathdowne’s Neighbourhood Park. From under-15s giving it their all to the older teams showing off some seasoned backyard skill, the spirit of play was alive and well. As the afternoon rolled in, the celebrations continued at the Rathdowne Club Open Day. Locals had the chance to explore the Club’s impressive resort-style facilities, including the sparkling pool, sport courts, gym, and inviting event spaces. Families filled the area as kids enjoyed circus school activities, face painting and sweet treats, while parents relaxed with free coffee and chatted with neighbours old and new. With lifeguards ensuring water safety and the entire Club activated for the occasion, it was the perfect showcase of the vibrant lifestyle on offer.
