We are passionate about supporting local organisations as they play such an important role to our Rathdowne residents by providing facilities and activities to enrich the community.
As part of Rathdowne’s Community Matters initiative, we are thrilled to provide some support to the following local (and very worthy) community groups.
Below are the current groups that we sponsor.
Rathdowne’s Community Grant will allow the upgrade of ageing equipment with new and improved ones including firefighting hose branches, first aid kits and safety tools.
The Rathdowne Grant will support The Conservation at Wollert Community Farm – The Farm’s purpose is to create a legacy that changes lives, helps our community thrive and restores and protects the environment. Caring for Country and helping people break the cycle of disadvantage through learning and connection are at the heart of this exciting initiative.
Our grant will aid the construction of the shelterbelt surround our farm hub – which will be a space for bushfood learning and a seed bank for our nursery, as well as providing much needed protection for our workers, volunteers and visitors from the strong winds in the area!”
Mernda Dragons is a Rugby League sports club. “Our community is one of family, fun and friendship. Our club has a strong sense of family values and morals and we are a very supportive club of not only our children/members, but also to our supporting families. We all contribute in any way we can and assist each other and help grow our club. Our focus is providing our children with a safe space to grow into their love of the game with the right training and skill set. We have a strong vision to see our club grow and welcome new families.”
Rathdowne’s Grant:
Mernda Dragons “We couldn’t do the work we do for our community without the help of generous organizations like Villawood. This grant essentially will help us with the below;
• Support the club operational and running costs, end of season presentations, uniforms and training courses to assist with the upskilling of our Coaches and Players and;
• In-kind contributions of equipment, space, supplies to support our teams, facility and canteen.”
If you’re affiliated with a local sporting club, school, recreation, community, cultural, educational, or not-for-profit organisation – simply tell us about your group or cause and they could receive monetary support!
