Rory’s Dry July Trifecta Pitch

Villawood’s Rory Costelloe is looking for a trifecta record with AFL Cats legend Billy Brownless’ Frothy Fund Dry July campaign, raising money for Barwon Health’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre in Geelong.

Billy’s Frothy Fund has been the number one Dry July fundraising team in Australia over the past two years, with its contributions playing a significant part of that honour – $51,000 out of last year’s $100K total and $31,900 in the year before’s total of $81K.

“If we can replicate the generosity of people who have chipped in over the journey, we’re a good chance,” says Rory. “We have a very supportive community and hopefully people can help again this year.

“Being part of Billy’s team is always pretty fun – once you’ve been dobbed in the first time, you’re a captive audience. You can’t say no to Billy when he comes calling.

“And digging deep for charities such as the Barwon Health Foundation is something close to my heart. I’ve been a long-term supporter of the Royal Children’s Hospital and Good Friday Appeal. Because I’ve been in Geelong for 20 years, I’ve developed an affinity for local causes like this.”

The Andrew Love Cancer Centre is a great cause and there are lots of ways your donation can help make cancer patients and their families more comfortable during a very difficult time. The funds Rory raises might go to specialist cancer care, accommodation close to treatment or maybe a wellness program.

“There are some great health professionals here in Geelong,” says Rory. “I really want to make sure we have the best health care possible for our community. Your assistance can really help.”

Every donation over $2 is tax-deductible and, more importantly, will provide services and care that help make life better for people affected by cancer.

There’s no donation too small – or too big, of course – because every donation will help make a difference.
