Armstrong August Community Update

We’re coasting into spring after a lo-ooong winter and starting to dream of warmer days! Here’s the news on what’s been happening around ARMSTRONG since our last update.

Construction is forging ahead and a lot has been achieved, across many stages of the project, with Stages 33 and 67 almost complete.

Construction of the new Armstrong Creek West Community Hub is well underway, and the buzz is growing among residents and onlookers. The $13 million Geelong City Council-led project is anticipated to open to the public in the second half of next year.

Located opposite Club Armstrong and Bunjil’s Nest district park, it will feature a new kindergarten, maternal child health and consulting services, with multi-purpose community and activity spaces.

The community hub, including kinder facilities, will be located next to a Mirripoa Primary School and the future Mount Duneed Village, making it convenient for families of Mount Duneed to stop here and streamline their daily routine. We can’t wait to see this hub of activity and all its services come to life in 2023!

We’re pleased to announce that the ARMSTRONG Community Grants have now been finalised and the 10 successful groups have been allocated a total of $10,000 in grants!

Each year, Villawood supports dozens of groups and local community causes through each of its projects. This year’s groups included sporting, environmental, education and not for profit groups, who will all be able to contribute a little more to the local community.

Take care and remember, spring’s just a week away.

Sincerely,
The ARMSTRONG Team.
