The Driving Factor

More room to move, a quicker commute to Melbourne and ready access to childcare, shops and other amenities made Akin and Funke Olayiwola’s move to Villawood’s Aspire at Fraser Rise an easy decision.

It also made them the 300th buyers to join the parks-oriented, lifestyle community in Melbourne’s roaring West.

With two active young children, and Melbourne CBD jobs, Akin and Funke decided an upsize from their 271sqm lot at Strathtulloh south of Melton to a 448sqm lot, and a 4BR two-storey home at Aspire was just the ticket.

“We wanted to move closer to the city and this is just near Watergardens station, on the Metro,” said Akin.

“It’s also right near Caroline Springs in the centre of everything – schools, childcare, shopping. Basically, it just ticks all the boxes.”

Akin, an electrical engineer, has his work HQ in Melbourne’s CBD but needs to visit various on-site locations across town. For him, Aspire means less time on the road and more time for the family things that matter.

Similarly, Funke, working with a city financial company, will have a quicker rail commute and more time to send with the family and their two children – Tishe, 3, and Tomiwa, 1.

The couple initially moved to Strathtulloh from Pakenham in Melbourne’s far southeast to trim time from a 90-minute twice-daily commute. With even more time now saved, they feel as if they’re getting the lives back. The driving factor, you might say.

“But with two growing children, we really needed to move to a bigger home with more room – that was the real driving factor,” says Akin.

“The staff at Oliver Hume made everything easy. They were very helpful and professional. When we first had the idea for this land, we didn’t even have a deposit but they helped us achieve everything we wanted.”
