The 2024 Surrounds Easter Eggstravaganza was a hit with hundreds of residents and locals hopping into this year’s Easter celebrations at the Leisure Centre.

Sponsored by Villawood, The Surrounds Leisure Centre, Funnybone Coffee and real estate agency Coastal, the morning was filled with family fun and of course plenty of chocolates.

The kids got crafty with the ever-popular ‘Colouring In’ competition, with prizes handed out to winners across various age-groups on the day. The kids weren’t the only victors on the day and winners were certainly grinners thanks to the $100 raffle prize courtesy of Harcourts and Funnybone Coffee.

We all know Easter is about eating your weight in chocolate, so it’s important to get the kids outside to burn off some of the sugar-induced energy…even if it is only to hunt down more moreish chocolate. So, it’s no surprise that the Easter Egg Hunt was the highlight of the morning, seeing 200 kiddies dashing around Buckler Park with baskets and bags to gather Easter eggs scattered through the park.

While the overly egg-cited little ones hunted for their eggs, parents were able to watch on as they enjoyed a relaxed breakfast at Funnybone Coffee. The popular local coffee haunt offered a special Easter menu with yummy treats for both adults and kids alike.

For residents, the family fun was just a hop, skip and a jump from their front doors. The Leisure Centre is located at the heart of The Surrounds community and the community events are an amazing way to bring the community together.
