Understanding OptiComm Fibre Optic Connection at Eucalee

To help ensure a seamless setup, please refer to the following important information:

  • The blue RF receiver in the image is the device that supplies FTA TV signal to the home.
  • The Coaxial TV cable leaving this device should be connected to the input of the FTA TV splitter in the home feeding to all TV outlets.
  • If a TV antenna is installed and connected to this port, it will interfere with OptiComm’s connection.
  • The two feeds (OptiComm & TV antennae can NOT be connected together or signal will be lost – only one feed either OptiComm or Antenna can be connected to the input.
  • Residents are required to make sure the Antennae feed (if installed) is disconnected from the home TV splitter (usually located in the roofspace).
  • The TV cable leaving the OptiComm RF receiver should be connected to the input of the home TV splitter.
  • This will then feed quality FTA TV signal to the home (which may not be achieved by any low lying antennae).
  • If a resident reports a FTA fault to OptiComm and the investigation finds the issue is caused by an antenna installation, a $300 no fault found fee will be charged by Opticomm.
  • If the TV antenna is retained, manual switching would be required in the roof each time they wish to swap incoming TV feeds.
  • To avoid disruption to your TV service, we recommend confirming with your builder that your home is correctly connected to the OptiComm network and that no antenna connections remain active.
