$2 million invested into the community in 2019!

Villawood Properties is proud to support dozens of smaller community groups, which may otherwise escape the attention of other corporate sponsors, both at a project level and at a corporate level.  It goes beyond dollars, with all our staff getting involved to help out to better understand the causes important to each local community. Football, athletics, cricket, special needs, netball, men’s sheds, family services, fire brigades, triathlons, schools, service clubs, rugby, basketball, swimming, surf lifesaving, festivals and many more groups and causes are supported by Villawood each year.

The largest initiative of Villawood’s philanthropic program is our collaboration with Henley Homes and their Queensland subsidiary Plantation Homes through which we donate land in our vibrant communities so that they can build the stunning homes which are auctioned for charity. In eleven years of collaboration with Henley on the Good Friday Appeal Charity Home Auction we have raised more than $6million for the Royal Children’s Hospital.  In 2019 we joined the House for Life initiative and were thrilled to help raise $986,000 for the Mater Little Miracles initiative.

We’re proud to reveal that the collective efforts of Villawood’s corporate giving in 2019 has exceeded $2 million.

Villawood is Caring for the Carers

Melbourne’s surging property prices are making it increasingly difficult for people in the essential services to get into the market.  Villawood’s Care Worker Support Program has been created so that people working in these roles can still afford to buy land  in Villawood projects

Under this initiative, purchasers who are employed as care workers who work within a 10km radius of a Villawood community that they are seeking to buy in, will be eligible for a $20,000 rebate on their block of land.  Villawood devised the Care Workers Support Program so care workers may live and work in the communities they serve.

The joy of one ecstatic family will be spread to countless others with Plantation Homes’ and Villawood Properties’ record-breaking House For Life Charity Home Auction result coming in at $986,000 every cent of which goes to Mater Little Miracles.

This House for Life is the eighth home that Plantation Homes has built and auctioned, in support of Mater Little Miracles. 2019 marked the the inaugural year of the partnership between Plantation and Villawood Properties, an extension of the philanthropic collaboration with Henley Homes on the Good Friday Appeal Charity House Auction.

Money raised by the House for Life Project, contributes to funding knowledge and expertise that assists more than 2,000 sick babies that are cared for at the Mater each year.

Supporting Local Community Groups

Each year, Villawood supports dozens of groups and local community causes through each of its projects, as well as at a corporate level.

This stems from the belief that a sense of community promotes social sustainability, which is equally as important as other sustainability outcomes such as energy and water savings.

Community Grants are awarded to groups or organisations that are local to our communities and have been operating for more than 12 months. Grants are generally between $500 and $1000 and awarded by individual projects.
We generally seek to support smaller community groups that would otherwise escape the attention of corporate sponsors.

If you are working with a community group that is seeking a grant, get in touch with Villawood to check criteria and when these become available.
