Solstice Precinct | Energy Saving Assumptions

As a new and evolving initiative, which is one of the first in Victoria, EnergyAustralia have provided the below saving assumptions.

The savings estimates are based on annual electricity costs for a Solstice Townhome utilising individual 4kW solar PV system with a microgrid battery solution; compared to a typical 3 bedroom townhouse without solar PV using 6MWh per annum and paying single rate tariff on Victorian Default Offer rates.

Actual Solstice Townhome electricity costs will depend on individual customer circumstances including electricity usage and solar PV generation.

Solstice Precinct Townhouses

  • 4kW solar PV system generating 5.3MWh pa
  • Consume 45% of total generation, $348 pa solar credit for 2.9MWh export
  • 3.6MWh consumption from microgrid and grid
  • $892 annual energy costs*

*Based on 24.50c/KWh and 98.1c/day supply (inc GST). 

Standard Townhouse

  • 6MWh annual electricity consumption
  • $1943 annual energy costs*

*Based on 26.41c/KWh and 98.1c/day supply (inc GST). 

Based on the above assumptions, there is a 55% reduction in estimated energy costs compared to Standard Townhouse.

Tariffs presented are based on information detailed on the Victoria Energy Compare website and subject to change. Rates for Community Energy Precinct Townhouse tenants detailed above are indicative and reflect current Victorian Default Offer and market prices as at 10th Nov 2020.
